If you want to find out more about Dianetics and Scientology, the best way to do this is to read an L. Ron Hubbard book on the subject. I personally recommend you read Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.
I read Dianetics while I was being audited (having Dianetics counseling) and so it was very real to me. When I finished the book I wanted to turn to the first page again and start all over again. I lost a life threatening allergy and gained 10 years in looks in my first Dianetics session.
